Wendy completed her Associates in Arts & Sciences at Seattle’s Wood Technology Center. She excelled at finishing work having brought her previous experience with materials such as foam carving, cake making, and sculpting to her coursework. She made swift work of her degree, completing it while working full time. She can swing a hammer, climb on scaffolding and a roof along with getting down and dirty in the drywall mud and concrete. Some of her best work is done in the details and she’s square, level and plumb.
Working with a variety of materials, Wendy has designed, made, and painted creative projects with resin, apoxie sculpt, paint, and a variety of materials to bring to life fun projects that stand out from the rest. She has sculpted, mini painted, and has experimented with multiple casting techniques. She holds a collection of different paints, dyes, pigments, micha powders, and glitters, ready for the next project she is called upon to complete.
Wendy has been sewing since she was a teenager when her mother taught her to cut and stitch patterns. She regularly makes costumes for herself and others, having decades of experience hand crafting and sometimes designing projects from found objects, combining patterns, or utilizing inspiration pieces to build off of. She works with sewing machines, overlock sergers, hand stitching, embroidery, cross-stitch, crochet and even wool felting on occasion. She has collected vintage bobbles and bangles to create eye catching pieces leaving others to ask, “what did you use to achieve this look?”
